Appeals Process
IGJCE is committed to a fair, transparent, and accountable editorial process. Authors who believe that an editorial decision was based on a misunderstanding, factual error, or procedural concern may submit a formal appeal for reconsideration. The appeals process is as follows:
Submission of an Appeal
Authors must submit a written appeal to the Editorial Office within the timeframe specified by the journal, clearly explaining the reasons for the appeal and providing supporting evidence where applicable.
Grounds for Appeal
Appeals should be based on scientific or procedural issues, such as factual inaccuracies, misinterpretation of the manuscript, or concerns regarding the peer-review process. Appeals based solely on disagreement with reviewers' opinions are generally not sufficient.
Editorial Review
The Editor-in-Chief or a designated senior editor will review the appeal, the reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and any additional supporting information.
Independent Assessment
If necessary, the manuscript may be referred to additional independent reviewers or editorial board members for further evaluation.
Final Decision — the journal will communicate one of:
- Uphold the original editorial decision.
- Invite the authors to submit a revised manuscript for further review.
- Reopen the peer-review process.
- Reverse the original decision in exceptional circumstances.
Decision is Final
The decision made following the appeal review is final and binding. Multiple appeals concerning the same manuscript will generally not be considered unless significant new evidence is presented.
Professional Communication
Authors are expected to communicate respectfully throughout the appeals process. Abusive, offensive, or inappropriate correspondence may result in the appeal being discontinued.
IGJCE handles all appeals confidentially, impartially, and in accordance with internationally recognised publication ethics and best editorial practices, ensuring that every appeal receives a fair and objective assessment.
