Article Types
The Litera Global Journal of Social Sciences (LGJSS) publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarly contributions that advance knowledge across the social sciences, humanities, education, management, commerce, and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal welcomes original, unpublished manuscripts that demonstrate academic excellence, methodological rigor, theoretical innovation, empirical relevance, ethical research practices, and meaningful contributions to policy, professional practice, or societal development. To accommodate diverse forms of scholarly communication, LGJSS accepts the following categories of manuscripts.
Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles present novel findings derived from empirical, qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, comparative, or interdisciplinary research in the social sciences and humanities. Manuscripts should demonstrate original research questions, sound theoretical foundations, rigorous methodologies, robust data analysis, and meaningful conclusions that contribute significantly to academic knowledge, policy development, or professional practice. Studies may include surveys, interviews, case analyses, ethnographic research, field studies, archival research, or other recognized social science research approaches.
Recommended Length: 5,000–8,000 words
Review Articles
Review Articles provide comprehensive and critical syntheses of existing literature in established or emerging areas of the social sciences and humanities. High-quality Systematic Reviews, Scoping Reviews, Meta-Analyses, and State-of-the-Art Reviews that identify research trends, theoretical developments, policy implications, knowledge gaps, and future research directions are particularly encouraged. Review articles should demonstrate extensive literature coverage, critical evaluation, and offer valuable insights for researchers and practitioners.
Recommended Length: 6,000–10,000 words
Conceptual, Theoretical, and Methodological Papers
These manuscripts introduce new conceptual models, theoretical frameworks, research methodologies, analytical approaches, policy frameworks, or innovative interdisciplinary perspectives that advance knowledge in the social sciences and humanities. Such contributions should present strong scholarly justification, methodological rigor, and demonstrate their relevance to research, education, public policy, or professional practice.
Recommended Length: 4,000–7,000 words
Case Studies and Applied Social Science Research
Case Studies present detailed investigations of organizations, communities, institutions, public policies, educational practices, business environments, legal systems, social programs, or other real-world contexts. These articles should provide evidence-based analyses, practical insights, and recommendations relevant to researchers, educators, policymakers, administrators, industry professionals, and practitioners.
Recommended Length: 3,000–5,000 words
Short Communications and Research Notes
Short Communications and Research Notes report significant preliminary findings, emerging research, innovative methodologies, pilot studies, policy observations, or concise scholarly contributions that merit rapid dissemination. These manuscripts should communicate clear and impactful findings of immediate relevance to the academic community.
Recommended Length: 2,000–3,500 words
Policy Papers and Practice-Based Articles
LGJSS welcomes Policy Papers and Practice-Based Articles that examine public policies, governance, institutional reforms, educational practices, social interventions, organizational strategies, community development initiatives, or professional best practices. These manuscripts should present evidence-based recommendations with practical implications for decision-makers and stakeholders.
Recommended Length: 2,500–5,000 words
Perspectives, Commentaries, and Opinion Papers
Perspective Articles present informed scholarly opinions, emerging viewpoints, contemporary debates, ethical considerations, policy analyses, and future directions concerning important issues affecting society, education, governance, business, culture, technology, and sustainable development. These articles should stimulate academic discussion and contribute constructively to scholarly discourse.
Recommended Length: 2,000–4,000 words
Letters to the Editor
Letters to the Editor provide concise scholarly discussions relating to recently published articles, methodological issues, policy developments, or emerging topics within the journal's scope. Letters should be evidence-based, constructive, and contribute meaningfully to academic dialogue.
Recommended Length: 1,000–2,000 words
Book Reviews
Book Reviews critically evaluate recently published scholarly books related to the social sciences, humanities, education, management, commerce, law, public policy, and interdisciplinary studies. Reviews should assess the publication's originality, scholarly contribution, methodological quality, strengths, limitations, and relevance to researchers, educators, practitioners, and policymakers.
Recommended Length: 1,000–2,000 words
General Requirements
All manuscripts submitted to the LGJSS must:
- Be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal, conference, or publisher.
- Fall within the Aims and Scope of LGJSS.
- Be prepared in accordance with the journal's Author Guidelines, manuscript template, and submission requirements.
- Comply with the journal's policies on Publication Ethics, Research Integrity, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure, Data Availability, Conflict of Interest, Funding Disclosure, and Plagiarism Prevention.
- Be written in clear, concise, and professional English using either British or American English consistently throughout the manuscript.
- Present academically rigorous methodologies, sound theoretical foundations, robust analyses, and evidence-based conclusions appropriate to the chosen research design.
- Include accurate citations and references prepared in accordance with APA 7th Edition.
- Successfully complete the journal's rigorous double-blind peer-review process before acceptance for publication.
Authors are strongly encouraged to select the manuscript category that best reflects the objectives, methodology, and scholarly contribution of their work to facilitate efficient editorial assessment and peer review. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reclassify a submitted manuscript into a more appropriate article category where necessary to ensure consistency with the journal’s editorial standards.
