Associate Editor Responsibilities
Associate Editors of the Indo Global Journal of Applied Management Science (IGJAMS) play a critical role in maintaining the journal’s academic quality, editorial integrity, and publication standards. Working under the guidance of the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors oversee the peer-review process within their areas of expertise and contribute to the efficient management of the journal’s editorial workflow.
Responsibilities of Associate Editors
Preliminary Manuscript Assessment
Conduct an initial evaluation of submitted manuscripts to determine their relevance to the journal's scope, originality, scientific quality, and compliance with the journal's submission requirements before initiating peer review.
Managing the Peer-Review Process
Identify and invite qualified, independent, and unbiased reviewers with appropriate subject expertise. Monitor the review process to ensure timely, constructive, and high-quality evaluations.
Editorial Recommendations
Assess reviewer comments, evaluate the scientific merit of manuscripts, and provide informed recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection.
Maintaining Editorial Quality
Ensure that manuscripts meet the journal's standards for originality, methodological rigour, ethical compliance, clarity of presentation, and scholarly contribution.
Upholding Publication Ethics
Remain vigilant regarding plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, falsification, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, and other forms of research misconduct. Any suspected ethical concerns should be reported promptly to the Editor-in-Chief.
Confidentiality
Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the editorial and peer-review process. Information relating to submitted manuscripts shall not be disclosed to unauthorised individuals or used for personal or professional advantage.
Conflict of Interest
Disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest and decline responsibility for manuscripts where impartiality could reasonably be questioned. Such manuscripts shall be reassigned to another qualified editor.
Timeliness
Handle manuscripts efficiently and communicate promptly with reviewers, authors, and the editorial office to ensure that editorial decisions are made within the journal's expected review timelines.
Supporting Editorial Development
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the journal by recommending qualified reviewers, proposing special issues, identifying emerging research topics, and promoting the journal within the academic community.
Promoting Journal Excellence
Support the strategic development of IGJAMS by encouraging high-quality manuscript submissions, maintaining professional standards, and enhancing the journal's national and international reputation.
