Article Types
The Metro Journal of Modern Sciences (MJMS) publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed scholarly contributions that advance knowledge across the social disciplines of modern science and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal welcomes original, unpublished manuscripts that demonstrate academic excellence, methodological rigor, theoretical innovation, empirical relevance, ethical research practices, and meaningful contributions to policy, professional practice, or societal development. To accommodate diverse forms of scholarly communication, MJMS accepts the following categories of manuscripts.
Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles report novel scientific findings derived from experimental, observational, computational, analytical, or interdisciplinary research. Manuscripts should present original hypotheses, robust methodologies, reliable data analyses, and meaningful conclusions that contribute significantly to scientific knowledge and practice. Research may encompass laboratory investigations, field studies, computational modeling, statistical analyses, algorithm development, scientific innovations, technological applications, or interdisciplinary scientific research.

Review Articles
Review Articles provide comprehensive, critical, and scholarly syntheses of existing literature in established or emerging areas of modern science. High-quality Systematic Reviews, Scoping Reviews, Meta-Analyses, and State-of-the-Art Reviews that identify research trends, scientific advances, knowledge gaps, and future research directions are particularly encouraged. Review articles should demonstrate comprehensive literature coverage, critical analysis, and provide valuable insights that guide future scientific investigations.
Recommended Length: 6,000–10,000 words
Conceptual, Theoretical, and Methodological Papers
These manuscripts introduce new scientific concepts, theoretical frameworks, analytical methods, computational models, mathematical approaches, algorithms, research methodologies, or innovative techniques that advance scientific understanding without necessarily relying on extensive experimental data. Such contributions should present clear scientific justification, methodological rigor, and potential applications across one or more scientific disciplines.
Recommended Length: 4,000–7,000 words
Case Studies and Applied Scientific Research
Case Studies present detailed investigations of scientific phenomena, laboratory research, field observations, environmental studies, clinical or biomedical investigations (where applicable), technological implementations, industrial applications, or interdisciplinary scientific solutions addressing real-world challenges. These articles should provide practical insights and evidence-based recommendations relevant to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, educators, and industry professionals.
Recommended Length: 3,000–5,000 words
Short Communications and Research Notes
Short Communications and Research Notes report significant preliminary findings, innovative scientific observations, novel experimental techniques, software tools, analytical methods, datasets, scientific protocols, computational approaches, or emerging discoveries that merit rapid dissemination. These manuscripts should communicate concise yet impactful scientific contributions of immediate relevance to the research community.
Recommended Length: 2,000–3,500 words
Data Papers and Scientific Resource Articles
MJMS welcomes Data Papers describing valuable scientific datasets, curated databases, software resources, computational workflows, laboratory protocols, scientific instruments, or research infrastructures that promote transparency, reproducibility, and future scientific discovery. Datasets should be appropriately documented and, where possible, deposited in recognized public repositories.
Recommended Length: 2,500–5,000 words
Perspectives, Commentaries, and Policy Papers
Perspective articles present informed opinions, emerging scientific viewpoints, policy analyses, research priorities, ethical considerations, and future directions concerning important issues affecting science, technology, innovation, sustainability, and society. These articles should stimulate scholarly discussion and contribute to the advancement of scientific policy and research.
Recommended Length: 2,000–4,000 words
Letters to the Editor
Letters to the Editor provide concise scholarly discussions related to recently published articles, scientific observations, methodological clarifications, or emerging issues relevant to the journal's scope. Letters should be evidence-based, constructive, and contribute meaningfully to academic dialogue.
Recommended Length: 1,000–2,000 words
Book Reviews
Book Reviews critically evaluate recently published scholarly books in the fields of modern science, technology, interdisciplinary research, or scientific innovation. Reviews should assess the publication's originality, scientific contribution, methodological quality, strengths, limitations, and relevance to researchers, educators, and practitioners.
Recommended Length: 1,000–2,000 words
General Requirements
All manuscripts submitted to the MJMS must:
- Be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal, conference, or publisher.
- Fall within the Aims and Scope of MJMS.
- Be prepared in accordance with the journal's Author Guidelines, manuscript template, and submission requirements.
- Comply with the journal's policies on Publication Ethics, Research Integrity, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure, Data Availability, Conflict of Interest, Funding Disclosure, and Plagiarism Prevention.
- Be written in clear, concise, and professional English using either British or American English consistently throughout the manuscript.
- Present academically rigorous methodologies, sound theoretical foundations, robust analyses, and evidence-based conclusions appropriate to the chosen research design.
- Include accurate citations and references prepared in accordance with APA 7th Edition.
- Successfully complete the journal's rigorous double-blind peer-review process before acceptance for publication.
Authors are strongly encouraged to select the manuscript category that best reflects the objectives, methodology, and scholarly contribution of their work to facilitate efficient editorial assessment and peer review. The Editorial Board reserves the right to reclassify a submitted manuscript into a more appropriate article category where necessary to ensure consistency with the journal’s editorial standards.
