The Editorial Team plays a central role in ensuring that every submitted manuscript is evaluated fairly, objectively, and solely on its academic merit, originality, methodological rigor, and contribution to educational research and practice. The Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, Section Editors, and Editorial Board Members perform their responsibilities in accordance with internationally recognized principles of scholarly publishing, publication ethics, and research integrity, thereby promoting excellence in educational scholarship and contributing to the advancement of global knowledge.
Responsibilities of the Editorial Team
Editorial Decision-Making: Editors are responsible for making independent, impartial, and timely decisions regarding the acceptance, revision, or rejection of manuscripts based on their originality, academic significance, methodological rigor, quality of scholarship, relevance to the journal's aims and scope, and the recommendations provided by independent peer reviewers.
Fair and Unbiased Evaluation: Editors evaluate all submitted manuscripts without discrimination based on nationality, gender, ethnicity, institutional affiliation, religion, political beliefs, career stage, or any other non-academic consideration. Editorial decisions are based exclusively on scholarly quality, originality, methodological soundness, ethical compliance, and the manuscript's contribution to advancing knowledge in modern science.
Confidentiality: Editors maintain strict confidentiality throughout the editorial and peer-review process. Information relating to submitted manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, and publication decisions shall not be disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, authorized editorial staff, or the publisher when necessary for the publication process.
Peer Review Management: Editors are responsible for selecting qualified, independent, and competent reviewers with appropriate subject expertise, managing the double-blind peer-review process, ensuring objective, constructive, and timely reviewer feedback, resolving conflicting reviewer recommendations where appropriate, and maintaining the quality, integrity, and efficiency of manuscript evaluations.
Publication Ethics and Research Integrity: Editors uphold the highest standards of publication ethics by identifying and addressing plagiarism, duplicate publication, redundant publication, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, unethical research practices, authorship disputes, conflicts of interest, and other forms of academic misconduct in accordance with internationally recognized ethical guidelines and best publishing practices.
Conflict of Interest: Editors must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest and shall not participate in the editorial handling of manuscripts where their impartiality could reasonably be questioned. Such manuscripts will be assigned to another qualified editor to ensure an independent, objective, and unbiased editorial decision.
Transparency and Editorial Integrity: Editors ensure that the journal's editorial policies, peer-review procedures, publication criteria, and ethical standards are implemented consistently, fairly, and transparently. Editorial decisions remain independent of commercial, institutional, political, financial, or personal interests and are made solely in the interest of academic excellence.
Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern: Where significant errors, ethical violations, or research misconduct are identified before or after publication, editors are responsible for taking appropriate corrective action, including the publication of corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern, to preserve the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record.
Timeliness and Effective Communication: Editors make every reasonable effort to ensure efficient manuscript processing, timely communication with authors and reviewers, prompt editorial decisions, and publication according to the journal's editorial schedule while maintaining the highest standards of peer review, editorial quality, and academic integrity.
Continuous Quality Improvement: The Editorial Team regularly reviews and strengthens the journal's editorial policies, peer-review procedures, publication standards, ethical guidelines, and editorial workflows to enhance the scholarly quality, international visibility, indexing readiness, and global reputation of the MJMS.
